It’s the middle of the process, I’ve completed my hand illustrations and now what? The next step I plan to do is to ink them in. I haven’t done anything like this in so long.
I’ve spent the last 23 years as a digital designer, first as a multimedia designer and then as web developer then a User Experience designer so this is intimidating. What pen should I even get? Boy, what have I gotten myself into? I guess I’m off to the internet to figure it out.
I did a bunch of research on other coloring book artists to figure out what there favorite pens were. Check, got the pen. I ended up getting Staedtler Pigment Liners, I like them, they kind of remind me of the rapidio graph pens that i used back in the day, but you don’t have to refill them, just order a new one when you need it.
Now spend the next few weeks getting all 30 illustrations completed. Now what? how do I digitize them and convert them to illustrator files so that I have super clean lines? Guess I’m off to YouTube land to find out…
