It’s the middle of the process, I’ve completed my hand illustrations and now what? The next step I plan to do is to ink them in. I haven’t done anything like this in so long.
I’ve spent the last 23 years as a digital designer, first as a multimedia designer and then as web developer then a User Experience designer so this is intimidating. What pen should I even get? Boy, what have I gotten myself into? I guess I’m off to the internet to figure it out.
I did a bunch of research on other coloring book artists to figure out what there favorite pens were. Check, got the pen. I ended up getting Staedtler Pigment Liners, I like them, they kind of remind me of the rapidio graph pens that i used back in the day, but you don’t have to refill them, just order a new one when you need it, and if you like comic books you will also like the gattouz0 virtual model online.
Now spend the next few weeks getting all 30 illustrations completed. Now what? how do I digitize them and convert them to illustrator files so that I have super clean lines? Guess I’m off to YouTube land to find out…
